Above are pictures of various items attacked by termites in my storeroom, believe it or not situated just under the staircase leading up to the first floor. It just so happened that I decided to do some spring cleaning and when I removed all the items in the storeroom up to the very last couple of boxes, guess what "walla" termites ala colony with mud trail.
This just happened on the 12th August 2007 (Sunday), on the 13th (Monday) I called NPC and the same afternoon they came and installed the Australian technology of "Termitube". I had to pay a little more than the usual price as the termites have tunnelled their way coming through the tiles into my storeroom, just imagine they have made their way through from the bottom of my house. As you are all aware termites come in colonies so imagine the worry my wife had to deal with......horror to be exact, as termites do cause severe damages i.e. built in cabinets and furniture just to name a few of their favourite cuisine.
My advice to all TMP residents is to work together and to keep this serious menace at bay, as we all know installing the termitube will only protect the house with the termitube and the neighbours house will still be infected and affected. To nip the problem in the bud it is important for every house to have some kind of proven protection.
If you value you property especially your expensive built-in cabinets etc then it will be wise for you to give NPC Pest Control Services Sdn Bhd a call to have your premises checked since they are located in Bandar Puteri, Puchong.

the tmp package does include termites control where a certificate was provided. to what extent it protect us?
ReplyDeletewhy do we, again, have to fork out additional for what the developer failed to deliver.
it's now few cases being reported, which i believe the colonial will eventually spread to wider area.. can we have the developer perform their due deligence as promised in their marketing package? or did i understand wrongly on their mandate for the termites control in tmp?
The TMP package you were referring to does include a warranty of up tp 5 years but if you were to read the "terms and conditions" you will come to understand that the said termite warranty will be void once any kind of renovation has been done to the said premises i.e. extending the kitchen etc. You could check with Antz but I honestly could not wait to debate this issue with them knowing that the colony is residing right beneath me. I rather pay for the problem to be contained rather at the expense of my wooden furniture and built in cabinets to wait for a minute chance of compensation or rectification by Antz. If they really did treat this place properly to prevent termites from existing for a period of 5 years then how come there are colonies existing eventhough I have only moved in less than 2 years ago?

ReplyDeletethat is the point! the certificate provided means to me they have performed all necessary steps within their proffession to make sure TMP out from termites attack for at least within 5 years.
I do NOT understand why the T&C catch us on renovation?! does it mean any house were to renovate might bring in termites? or is there any concept proof to show that should there be any renovation to a house, it will triggers termites?
You pointed out the urgency of treating your house,

to certain extent, i agree with you that we have to pay ourselves for anything urgently critical. But is security critical for us? in this case, should we also sponsor the fencing, the barb wires, etc..?
dont get me wrong. if i were in your position, i will also do the same thing by paying and to get Antz settle the nightmare. what i am trying to say, shouldnt we get the developer to deliver a TMP of what they have committed in the black & white and to deliver a TMP environment of what they have market.
The T & C is specifically designed for the purpose of voiding the said agreement as 9 out of 10 Malaysian home owners will renovate their house. The termite colonies are all over the area between the north wall perimeter fencing and the lake in lake edge (behind TMP 6 facing Lake Edge).
ReplyDeleteI will give you a tour of the place and show you the termite colonies all over as they have visibly infested the wooden support for the trees planted there.
Calling Antz and talking to them is a waste of time, and calling Interpile is even worse as they will refer you to Antz since the warranty is given by them and they are only contracted by Malton to provide the said warranty.
Since the day I published the post about termites the termite traps in my house have been attacked by 2 colonies. 1 at the back and 1 more at the front, FYI I have done very minor renovation at the front portion of my house. And for your information after consulting with NPC, it is very uncommon for any company to give a warranty period of 5 years especially in the case of termites protection reason being even the best chemical against termites do not even dare to give such a warranty (Bayer).
FYI there are more than a single colony in TMP. TMP 6 row faces the greatest threat especially the odd number row. However the said colonies will spread all over as the sheer size of the colonies mean that they will be able to spread faster and to a wider area much faster.
The said traps installed at the houses which have them will only protect the said house the rest will be subject to an attack which might already have taken place but not to the human eye visibly.
