Community Policing Program By PDRM
Above picture showing the attendees mainly consisting residents associations representatives from various taman all over Kinrara area under the jurisdiction of the Puchong Jaya police beat base headed by Inspector Lokman. The said meeting is to introduce to all residents representatives supposedly to be numbering 25 tamans altogether the CP (Community Policing) program under the directive of PDRM.
Main objective of such a program is to get the involvement of communities to help and assist the police with information gathering and to form a network to enable closer monitoring and information dissemination. Such a move is lauded as communities are now able to participate in the policing of their own neighbourhood and have direct link and access to the police to create a better chain of communication and most importantly provide valuable feedback from the ground to enable the police to have better gauge of the actual situation in various communities to allow them to have better information to formulate strategies and measures to deal with issues affecting the residents such as house break-ins, robbery, vandalism, suspicious characters loitering around, motorbike theft and etc.
For the CP program each taman will have a representative known as AJK (Ahli Jawatan Kuasa) to sit in the committee panel which in totality form the committee body.
Important Facts
- Puchong police beat base covers a 25 KM radius of territory comprising 25 tamans (residential enclaves)
- Population in this area total 495,000 people
- Total police personnel covering this area currently @ 70
- Ratio is 1:7070
- High crime areas include Bandar Kinrara, Vista Lavender and surrounding areas nearby
- Common criminal activities include break-ins, motorbike/vehicle theft and vandalism of public property
With the above facts noted it is therefore imperative that to reduce the crime rate in Puchong it is crucial for all residents association to form various crime prevention groups like Rukin Tetangga, Rela and other similar activities to encourage participation from the public in their respective areas to help share resources and community responsibility for a better living environment.

Imagine that 1 police for every 7070residents in Puchong. Wow!!! No wonder high crime rates. It's good that we have representatives from our taman participating in this sort of program with the police. We should actually be lucky in that our taman is crime free in that sense as it is a gated and guarded community. Sad as it may seem, there are still others who are obliviant to this fact and there are others who are still harping over the RM 100 maintenance & security fee. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!! Open your eyes!!!! The RA are only doing this for the betterement of everyone. Without security services, we cannot live in peace. You think that the police here are able to help? 1:7070 ratio, that is almost impossible. Instead, those of you who refuse to pay, should ask yourself this "Without the current security services, are we able to live in peace? Leave our homes without any worry or care? Can our children wonder around the garden without constant supervision? Will it be safe?" Well, my friends....the answer is blatanly a big "NO!!!!". So rather than complaining, just for god sake PAY and enjoy the peace and comfort of Taman. Nothing in this world comes free and cheap!!! There are other gated and guarded areas in Puchong where residents have to pay RM 180 per month without any swimming pool facility, a garden that they can call their own or even a lake view to enjoy. All they see around them are bricks and walls and yet they are willing to pay RM 180 per month just for security. And here, we have people who are still harping on not paying lah....too expensive lah....ect.....and what for? over an additional RM 50 in order to maintain peace and safety within our taman and our home. Aiyoh!!! WAKE UP and SMELL THE AIR AROUND YOU!!!!
