Only a week to go and I just want to take this opportunity to remind all TMP residents to get the tickets to attend this community activity and to also announce that this event is open to the public to share our community spirit and to lead by example to promote a good community living environment.
Tickets are only RM 20 for adults and RM 10 for children above 5 years old and these are at cost price as we are catering the food for the event. Like I have mentioned in the previous post, the idea to cater is far more efficient management and will take up less time to organise in order for this event to take place. We believe that all residents should take pride that in TMP we have the RA to organise such event and should participate willingly as a show of solidarity in the community.
Many resident have volunteered and done a great job to date to get everything organised and planned out carefully, so support your fellow members of the community for a fun family gathering with friends and neighbours. This is a great opportunity for all residents to gather and to mingle to get to know thy neighbours, which is one of the main objective for organising this event.
To date we have sold 200 tickets and the RA would like to thank all residents whom have participated and look forward to a fun evening with all. To residents that have complained that the tickets are expensive etc while resident volunteers went door-to-door to offer the said tickets, well it will be a good opportunity missed to truly come out and be apart of the community and to share the community spirit which we all should be practicing in a gated community like Taman Mutiara Puchong.
Sometimes I think some Malaysians lack the maturity when it comes to social responsibility or to practice a sense of responsibility as a resident when it comes to living in a close community like a gated and guarded housing development. Many residents are still having the traditional mindset of "My home is the four walls of my house and I do not care what else is happening outside my compound attitude, or I just rent out my house and I do not care what is happening including what kind of tenants I have as long as they pay etc.
To think of all these happenings is sometime saddening but when reality kicks in, I realise that like evolution of mankind, it is also necessary that we have a revolution in the evolution of attitudes and mindsets in order for us to enjoy and to be able to compare with out western counterparts like Australia, USA, Canada, UK etc.
Like we once heard Malaysia has 1st class infrastructure/facilities but 3rd class mentality well this statement holds more water to me now than before I was involved with voluntary community service especially in Taman Mutiara Puchong. I for one wish to see more residents practice or awaken their social responsibility aspect of their life and be better role models in society. We can always do with more responsible people in the neighbourhood and this is what differentiates between a good neighbourhood and a not so good one.
I could go on and on and share many more stories here but I shall not preach something that probably you have heard but possibly yet to act on it yourself, but if you have I salute you and encourage you to keep up the good work mate.
So to all residents and friends please get your tickets now for the Pesta Tanglung Muhibbah 2 and you can get them during office hours at No.60, Jalan TMP 4, Taman Mutiara Puchong, 47160 Puchong, Selangor. All are welcomed as long as you have the tickets, and to all freeloaders please take note that food will only be served to those that have tickets as they will be identified with a pink ribbon. We want to encourage resident participation but at the same time also want to ensure that we eliminate the freeloader attitude of some.
