Dead Fishes Again 12th November 2007

Another incident again and this time around I would rate the number of dead fishes as the second worst case out of the 4 incidents recorded to date within 2 months. Do take note residents that I have been living in Taman Mutiara Puchong since July 2006 and no such incident recorded until recently over a span of 60 days.
Although the cleanup by MPSJ is still ongoing which we the residents are thankful anf grateful for, however I still strongly feel that the root of the said problem is far from alleviated. Why you might ask? Mainly these:
1. What was the test result by Jabatan Alam Sekitar taken after the reported incident in October 2007? I think the relevant authorities should issue a official finding that is transparent to all residents living in close proximity of the said lake. How are we to get the result? Well your guess is as good as mine? I wonder who is kind enough to lead us in the right direction if any? Any cover up intentions?
2. 4th incident within a span of 60 days, only recently? How come? Accumulation of toxic over the course of the illegal dumping period? God knows for how long? Possibly years for all I know? Possibility of drainage waste from nearby light industrial units which mainly consist of small printing companies? We followed the drainage trail and it leads right into the lake ironically.
3. Landfill in the lake causing a change in temperature hence the dead fishes? You reckon this is a logical explanation? Hmmmmmmm......I reckon less likely to cause such number of dead fishes due to the fact that the sheer size of the lake and depth is more than adequate to displace any change in temperature caused by any situation.
I do not want to imply in this post of anyone responsible in particular but merely to point out the fact that as a nation we truly and urgently are in need of people that will truly take pride in their personal capacity to asist in getting to the root of the problem to solve rather than delay and make excuses. Not making secondary guesses, finger pointing as well as merely seeking publicity for personal gains.
I still pray daily for a change, a great change that will truly benefit all Malaysians and I believe such a change will only take place with a change in the attitudes of people in places that can force such a positive change. I do not have to mention names but by references to my earlier posts you should be able to logically work out who is responsible for the cleanliness and welfare (safety) of all residents in this area.
We as residents should really give a damn of where we live and how we are living it. We as residents should also not be afraid to voice out any displeasure and not be afraid to approach any relevant authorities for assistance and not be afraid to question them at the same time when it is justifiable. It is within our rights as "RAKYAT" of Malaysia.
MALAYSIA BOLEH? I think boleh but whether the people put in positions to serve will exercise their power righteously and efficiently is a case we can probably debate about over a cup of teh tarik. Action speaks louder than words...........we as residents want to see action and not empty promises.

  1. If i'm not mistaken the test result should be out by now, since they needed 2 weeks to test the water quality but who is having the result? or is it just another take and throw to one side ...since nothing happen, no dead people yet ?

I think we should call up all the media again on this dead fish issue, if it ever happen again. MPSJ is cleaning the lake bank but what about floating rubbish? no sampan to do that ? :)

  2. i am not sure if the owner aware of it, where his contractor actually dump all debris into the lake just right beside.

Yes. i am referring to the corner house located on the second road in phase 3. It loaded tons of debris results of the massive renovation.

weeks ago, i can recall clearly it was on the Saturday day where AI's gathering that causes a massive jam, i sighted the Indonesian workers dumped all debris into the lake trips after another. Yes, it's convenient loading all debris into the small rolling car and within seconds of walking distance, they can unload it into the lake.

i urge all owners to warn our respective contractors to be ethical as we all live just beside the lake. I'd also request the owner of the above said corner unit in pahse 3 to demand the contractor to clean & to reinstate the condition of the lake side just right beside the house.
